On this page I share art work and concepts and parts of the story as they develop. Right now there’s not much to show, a few concept drawings for a story currently titled “Claim”. A science fiction adventure about the first person to attempt to intercept and mine and asteroid.

Under Constuction:

Geo Thornton once dreamed of becoming an astronaut.

Instead, he spent years working among the remnants of other people’s dreams, maintaining an aging aerospace museum built around a decommissioned missile silo in western Montana.

And quietly, almost impossibly, he built something of his own.

A spacecraft.

His destination is a near Earth asteroid passing through the neighborhood, carrying metals worth a fortune. Geo believes reaching it doesn’t require a nation, a billion dollar space program, or permission.

So one night, he leaves.

The launch is impossible to hide.

Military tracking systems detect an unidentified spacecraft climbing into orbit. Investigators descend on the museum. Intercept aircraft are sent after him. And hundreds of miles above Earth, Geo and LINUS, the artificial intelligence that helped him build everything, race to assemble the pieces of a spacecraft that has never existed anywhere except inside Geo’s imagination.

But the farther Geo travels from Earth, the less important the question of how he did it becomes.

The question is why.

And as the people below try to understand the man who left them behind, Geo begins a journey that will carry him beyond the Moon, toward an asteroid no human has ever touched, and toward something he may have been searching for long before he ever decided to leave Earth.

CLAIM is a science fiction graphic novel about ambition, isolation, grief, friendship, and the things we leave behind when we decide there is somewhere else we need to be.

Following the unauthorized launch Grace Montano is assigned as the lead investigator to discover who launched such a dangerous mission and why.

Along the way she meets a cast of characters as she steps into a world filled with robotics, artificial intelligence, impossible ambitions, and secrets buried beneath a lifetime of unfinished dreams.
