Under Constuction:

I have many ideas for short stories, novels, comics and screenplays etc. In this space I will share my progress as I get back into drawing, which I haven’t done much of since high school.

Here I’ll share art work and concepts and parts of the story as they develop. Right now there’s not much to show, but the concept is written below….

Claim is a story that explores the worlds first private asteroid miner, except he’s not part of a billion-dollar corporation.

Instead, history is being changed by someone brave enough to build a spacecraft that looks like a flying scrapyard assembled by people who cared more about function than appearance with the ultimate goal of changing the world and getting rich.

The protagonist isn't a billionaire. He's a burned-out aerospace engineer, machinist, or robotics programmer. He inherited rural property with a large aircraft hangar. He's drowning financially. Divorced. In Debt. Closing to losing everything.

He knows asteroid mining is theoretically possible, but every government and corporation assumes it requires billion-dollar infrastructure. No one’s been working the problem like he has, but government funding is going to the Moon and Mars.

He quietly spends years designing something radically different. Then one day he quits his job, assembles a team and with the help of his autonomous android begins taking advantage of AI designed components, industrial 3D printers fabricate exotic alloys, autonomous drones manufacture precision parts, newly patented fusion batteries that make it possible to push a small craft beyond Earths atmosphere. It’s all within reach, he’s developed an incredibly efficient engine, but it’s only capable of carrying one person and a few hundred kilograms.

Everyone thinks he's building another experimental aircraft. On the inside it feels like he’s planning a bank robbery.

But he’s not trying to break a speed record or develop a highly efficient engine capable of spaceflight and safe reentry. He plans to launch from his private land before anyone can stop him.

The world's radar suddenly notice, an unknown launch. No registered mission. No military signature. Governments panic. By the time anyone figures out what happened he's already coasting toward a Near-Earth asteroid. But other challenges remain, as he races against time, with limited fuel and air supplies to complete his mission and return safely.

The asteroid itself feels eerie. Silent. Ancient. Worth trillions. His plan; orbit his target deploy robotic miners, processes only the highest-value ore, platinum-group metals, something even rarer. Do so successfully without causing the astroid to break up. The entire mission hangs on tiny engineering details.

If he makes it home, the world will change forever, if he fails he’ll be forgotten and labeled insane who took too many risks and paid the ultimate price.
